Microsoft is set to launch its version of operating system on October 26, 2012. It is also expected that Microsoft will launch its Surface Tablet almost at the same time. It has been tweeted by the company official @Windows account @WIndows “Mark your calendar: Windows 8 will be available on October 26th, 2012,”.
Microsoft’s Steven Sinofsky, president of Windows, announced the news at the company’s annual sales meeting. 
The company has also said Windows Phone 8 will launch some time this fall, so on or around Oct. 26 is looking like a likely launch time for the mobile operating system. Microsoft has described Windows 8 as the most important redesign of its interface in more than a decade. Windows 8 includes a touch-controlled interface as well as a more traditional desktop.
